Late breaking news from the Fezeka Choir

I am writing to update you on the Provincial finals that took place this past weekend. It is my pleasure to inform you that we have WON!!! For the first time since 2009, the Fezeka Choir will be going to the National Finals as a mixed choir. We won the Male category, the Western and African sections. We will thus represent the Western Cape in those three categories. It was such a proud moment for me. All I have ever wanted was to take the whole Fezeka choir to the finals… not just the girls or boys. Because of our victory on Sunday, this year I will get to do just that!

Now that the pressure has decreased, I have asked that they focus on their studies and catch up on whatever they may have fallen back on, during the preparations for the Eisteddfod. We will intensify the rehearsals only after the exams. We shall meet once a week for the next three weeks.

The National Finals are to take place from 28 June – 01 July. We are competing on June 30 and 01 July. So we leave Cape Town on June 28. We will arrive back on July 02. Some very exciting performances lined up for the choir. I will tell you about them in the follow up email which I will write to you later in the week. If we win at the National Championships, we stand to win a keyboard and many more great prizes.

I shall leave it there for now. Take care and be blessed.
